Don't Give Up on Making Resolutions!

♥♪ Come, ... Worship

THE RESOLUTIONS of Jonathan Edwards

BEING SENSIBLE THAT I AM UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT GOD' S HELP, I DO HUMBLY ENTREAT HIM BY HIS GRACE TO ENABLE ME TO KEEP THESE RESOLUTIONS, SO FAR AS THEY ARE AGREEABLE TO HIS WILL, FOR CHRIST' S SAKE.

Remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.

1. I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God' s glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence. To do whatever I think to be my duty and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general. I will do this, whatever difficulties I meet with, how many soever, and how great soever.

2. To be continually endeavoring to find out some new contrivance and invention to promote the aforementioned things.

3. If ever I shall fall and grow dull, so as to neglect to keep any part of these Resolutions, to repent of all I can remember, when I come to myself again.

4. Never to do any manner of thing, whether in soul or body, less or more, but what tends to the glory of God; nor be, nor suffer it, if I can avoid it.

5. Never to lose one moment of time; but improve it the most profitable way I possibly can.

6. To live with all my might, while I do live.

7. Never to do anything, which I should be afraid to do, if it were the last hour of my life.

8. To act, in all respects, both speaking and doing, as if nobody had been so vile as I, and as if I had committed the same sins, or had the same infirmities or failings as others; and that I will let the knowledge of their failings promote nothing but shame in myself, and prove only an occasion of my confessing my own sins and misery to God.

9. To think much on all occasions of my own dying, and of the common circumstances which attend death.

10. When I feel pain, to think of the pains of martyrdom, and of hell.

11. When I think of any theorem in divinity to be solved, immediately to do what I can towards solving it, if circumstances do not hinder.

12. If I take delight in it as a gratification of pride, or vanity, or on any such account, immediately to throw it by.

13. To be endeavoring to find out fit objects of charity and liberality.

14. Never to do any thing out of revenge.

15. Never to suffer the least motions of anger towards irrational beings.

16. Never to speak evil of anyone, so that it shall tend to his dishonor, more or less, upon no account except for some real good.

17. I will live so, as I shall wish I had done when I come to die.

18. To live so, at all times, as I think is best in my devout frames, and when I have clearest notions of things of the gospel, and another world.

19. Never to do any thing, which I should be afraid to do, if I expected it would not be above an hour, before I should hear the last trump.

20. To maintain the strictest temperance, in eating and drinking.

21. Never to do any thing, which if I should see in another, I should count a just occasion to despise him for, or to think any way the more meanly of him. (Resolutions 1 through 21 written in one setting in New Haven in 1722)

22. To endeavor to obtain for myself as much happiness, in the other world, as I possibly can, with all the power, might, vigor, and vehemence, yea violence, I am capable of, or can bring myself to exert, in any way that can be thought of.

23. I will frequently take some deliberate action, which seems most unlikely to be done, for the glory of God, and trace it back to the original intention, designs and ends of it; and if I find it not to be for God' s glory, to repute it as a breach of the 4th Resolution.

24. Whenever I do any conspicuously evil action, to trace it back, till I come to the original cause; and then, both carefully endeavor to do so no more, and to fight and pray with all my might against the original of it.

25. To examine carefully, and constantly, what that one thing in me is, which causes me in the least to doubt of the love of God; and to direct all my forces against it.

26. To cast away such things, as I find do abate my assurance.

27. Never willfully to omit any thing, except the omission be for the glory of God; and frequently to examine my omissions.

28. To study the Scriptures so steadily, constantly and frequently, as that I may find, and plainly perceive myself to grow in the knowledge of the same.

29. Never to count that a prayer, nor to let that pass as a prayer, nor that as a petition of a prayer, which is so made, that I cannot hope that God will answer it; nor that as a confession, which I cannot hope God will accept.

30. To strive to my utmost every week to be brought higher in religion, and to a higher exercise of grace, than I was the week before.

31. Never to say any thing at all against any body, but when it is perfectly agreeable to the highest degree of Christian honor, and of love to mankind, agreeable to the lowest humility, and sense of my own faults and failings, and agreeable to the golden rule; often, when I have said anything against anyone, to bring it to, and try it strictly by the test of this Resolution.

32. To be strictly and firmly faithful to my trust, that that, in Proverbs 20:6, (A faithful man who can find?) may not be partly fulfilled in me.

33. To do always, what I can towards making, maintaining, and preserving peace, when it can be done without overbalancing detriment in other respects. Dec. 26, 1722.

34. In narrations never to speak any thing but the pure and simple truth.

35. Whenever I so much question whether I have done my duty, as that my quiet and calm is thereby disturbed, to set it down, and also how the question was resolved.

36. Never to speak evil of any, except I have some particular good call for it. Dec. 19, 1722.

37. To inquire every night, as I am going to bed, wherein I have been negligent,- what sin I have committed,-and wherein I have denied myself;-also at the end of every week, month and year. Dec. 22 and 26, 1722.

38. Never to speak anything that is ridiculous, sportive, or matter of laughter on the Lord' s day. Sabbath evening, Dec. 23, 1722.

39. Never to do any thing of which I so much question the lawfulness of, as that I intend, at the same time, to consider and examine afterwards, whether it be lawful or not; unless I as much question the lawfulness of the omission.

40. To inquire every night, before I go to bed, whether I have acted in the best way I possibly could, with respect to eating and drinking.

41. To ask myself, at the end of every day, week, month and year, wherein I could possibly, in any respect, have done better.

42. Frequently to renew the dedication of myself to God, which was made at my baptism; which I solemnly renewed, when I was received into the communion of the church.

43. Never, henceforward, till I die, to act as if I were any way my own, but entirely and altogether God' s.

44. No other end but pleasing GOD the FATHER, shall have any influence at all on any of my actions; and that no action shall be, in the least circumstance, any otherwise than this end will carry it.

45. Never to allow any pleasure or grief, joy or sorrow, nor any affection at all, nor any degree of affection, nor any circumstance relating to it, but what helps people know and please GOD The FATHER.

46. Never to allow the least measure of any fretting uneasiness at my father or mother. Resolved to suffer no effects of it, so much as in the least alteration of speech, or motion of my eye: and to be especially careful of it with respect to any of our family.

47. To endeavor, to my utmost, to deny whatever is not most agreeable to a good, and universally sweet and benevolent, quiet, peaceable, contented and easy, compassionate and generous, humble and meek, submissive and obliging, diligent and industrious, charitable and even, patient, moderate, forgiving and sincere temper; and to do at all times, what such a temper would lead me to; and to examine strictly, at the end of every week, whether I have done so.

48. Constantly, with the utmost niceness and diligence, and the strictest scrutiny, to be looking into the state of my soul, that I may know whether I have truly an interest in Christ or not; that when I come to die, I may not have any negligence respecting this to repent of.

49. I will act so as I think I shall judge would have been best, and most prudent, when I come into the future world.

50. I will act so, in every respect, as I think I shall wish I had done, if I should at last be damned.

51. I frequently hear persons in old age, say how they would live, if they were to live their lives over again: Resolved, that I will live just so as I can think I shall wish I had done, supposing I live to old age.

52. To improve every opportunity, when I am in the best and happiest frame of mind, to cast and venture my soul on the Lord Jesus Christ, to trust and confide in him, and consecrate myself wholly to him; that from this I may have assurance of my safety, knowing that I confide in my Redeemer.

53.  Whenever I hear anything spoken in conversation of any person, if I think it would be praiseworthy in me, Resolved to endeavor to imitate it.

54. 55. To endeavor to my utmost to act as I can think I should do, if, I had already seen the happiness of heaven, and hell torments.

56. Never to give over, nor in the least to slacken, my fight with my corruptions, however unsuccessful I may be.

57. When I fear misfortunes and adversities, to examine whether I have done my duty, and resolve to do it, and let the event be just as providence orders it. I will as far as I can, be concerned about nothing but my duty, and my sin.

58. Not only to refrain from an air of dislike, fretfulness, and anger in conversation, but to exhibit an air of love, cheerfulness and benignity.

59. When I am most conscious of provocations to ill nature and anger, that I will strive most to feel and act good-naturedly; yea, at such times, to manifest good nature, though I think that in other respects it would be disadvantageous, and so as would be imprudent at other times.

60. Whenever my feelings begin to appear in the least out of order, when I am conscious of the least uneasiness within, or the least irregularity without, I will then subject myself to the strictest examination.

61. I will not give way to that listlessness which I find unbends and relaxes my mind from being fully and fixedly set on religion, whatever excuse I may have for it-that what my listlessness inclines me to do, is best to be done, etc.

62. Never to do anything but duty, and then according to Ephesians 6:6-8, to do it willingly and cheerfully as unto the Lord, and not to man: knowing that whatever good thing any man doth, the same shall he receive of the Lord.

63. On the supposition, that there never was to be but one individual in the world, at any one time, who was properly a complete Christian, in all respects of a right stamp, having Christianity always shining in its true luster, and appearing excellent and lovely, from whatever part and under whatever character viewed: Resolved, to act just as I would do, if I strove with all my might to be that one, who should live in my time.

64. When I find those "groanings which cannot be uttered" (Romans 8:26), of which the Apostle speaks, and those "breakings of soul for the longing it hath," of which the Psalmist speaks, Psalm 119:20, that I will promote them to the utmost of my power, and that I will not be weary of earnestly endeavoring to vent my desires, nor of the repetitions of such earnestness.

65. Very much to exercise myself in this, all my life long, viz. with the greatest openness, of which I am capable of, to declare my ways to God, and lay open my soul to him: all my sins, temptations, difficulties, sorrows, fears, hopes, desires, and every thing, and every circumstance; according to Dr. Manton' s 27th Sermon on Psalm 119.

66. I will endeavor always to keep a benign aspect, and air of acting and speaking in all places, and in all companies, except it should so happen that duty requires otherwise.

67. After afflictions, to inquire, what I am the better for them, what am I the better for them, and what I might have got by them.

68. To confess frankly to myself all that which I find in myself, either infirmity or sin; and, if it be what concerns religion, also to confess the whole case to God, and implore needed help.

69. Always to do that, which I shall wish I had done when I see others do it.

70. Let there be something of benevolence, in all that I speak.

The Old Time Gospel

Smith Wigglesworth
What It Means to Be Full of the Holy Ghost   By Smith Wigglesworth
"God can fill you with His Spirit and make you a chosen vessel for Himself, and promote you to a place of mighty ministry in the salvation of souls and in the healing of the sick. There is nothing impossible to a man filled with the Holy Ghost. It is beyond all human comprehension. When you are filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, God will wonderfully work wherever you go."
Jonathan Edwards
How to Know if You Are a Real Christian   By Jonathan Edwards
"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."   James 2:19
"No matter how much people may know about God and the Bible, it is no sure sign of salvation. The devil before his fall, was one of the bright and morning stars, a flame of fire, one excelling in strength and wisdom. Suppose you were to die today. Why should God let you into his heaven? A very common response is, "I believe in God." Apparently the apostle James knew people who said the same thing: I know I am in God's favor, because I know these religious doctrines."

A Solemn Warning For All Churches   By C. H. Spurgeon
"The holy apostle, John, said of the church in Sardis, "These things saith he that hath the Seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou has a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die; for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou has received and heard, and hold fast and repent. "
Jonathan Edwards
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God   By Jonathan Edwards
"That the reason why they are not fallen already, and do not fall now, is only that God's appointed time is not come. For it is said, that when that due time, or appointed time comes, their foot shall slide. Then they shall be left to fall, as they are inclined by their own weight. God will not hold them up in these slippery places any longer, but will let them go; and then at that very instant, they shall fall into destruction; as he that stands on such slippery declining ground, on the edge of a pit, he cannot stand alone, when he is let go he immediately falls and is lost."

How to Bear Sorrow   By F. B. Meyer
Jesus Christ Himself trod this difficult path, leaving traces of His blood on its flints; and apostles, prophets, confessors, and martyrs have passed by the same way. It is comforting to know that others have traversed the same dark valley, and that the great multitudes which stand before the Lamb, wearing palms of victory, came out of great tribulation.

The Vision Of Dry Bones   By Robert Murray MCheyne
How strange a question was this to put concerning dry, whitened bones! When Jesus said of the damsel: "She is not dead, but sleepeth," they laughed him to scorn; but here were not bodies newly dead, but bones- bare, whitened bones; nay, they were not even skeletons, for bone was separated from its bone; and yet God asks: "Can these bones live?"

George Whitefield

The Duty of searching the Scriptures   By George Whitefield
When the Sadducees came to our blessed Lord, and put to him the question, "whose wife that woman should be in the next life, who had seven husbands in this," he told them "they erred, not knowing the scriptures." And if we would know whence all the errors, that have over-spread the church of Christ, first arose, we should find that, in a great measure, they flowed from the same fountain, ignorance of the word of God.

George Kulp

Apostolic Practices   By George Kulp
A Christian is one who reproduces the life of Christ, and that only is Christianity which produces the work of Christ. You do not alter a thing, or the nature of it, because you put a label on it. Christianity must prove itself. It must prove by its works that it is of God. The Church itself must prove its right to exist, and it does it only as it manifests the spirit of Christ, and reproduces His works.

Do all the good you can,

By John Wesley:

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

And from David Hogan: (a new friend I have sent me this in an email:)

"Yeah couple of my friends have sat down and talked with David before. They asked him, "David, what do you think about going to the movies?" Well, I know that David isn't being all legalistic and everything of that nature, but it's pretty aggressive what he said:,

 "What do you think about fasting until your skin is hanging off your bones?"

Hahaha, well right now, the one that asked him, he's going on 1 week on and 1 week off water fasts. And I'm like, "how can you do that?"

A Spoonful of Cinnamon Helps Treat Diabetes

A Spoonful of Cinnamon Helps Treat Diabetes
posted 12/30/03

By Alison McCook

NEW YORK  - People with diabetes can help keep their bodies healthy by simply adding a dash of spice to their diet, new research reports.

In a study, diabetics who incorporated one gram -- equivalent to less than one-quarter teaspoon -- of cinnamon per day for 40 days into their normal diets experienced a decrease in levels of blood sugar, cholesterol and blood fats.

And for people with diabetes, the less of those substances in the body, the better.

Type 2 diabetes arises when the body loses sensitivity to insulin, a hormone that shuttles the sugars from food into body cells to be used for energy. As a result, the amount of sugar, or glucose, in the blood remains high, leading to fatigue and blurred vision. Over the long term, excess blood glucose can increase the risk of heart disease, kidney failure and blindness.

The current findings suggest that a small amount of cinnamon can help protect diabetics from these and other potential complications of their condition, study author Dr. Richard A. Anderson of the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center in Maryland told Reuters Health.

Diabetics could add a dash of cinnamon to their morning servings of coffee, orange juice or cereal, Anderson noted. "You can also make a cinnamon tea by simply boiling water with stick cinnamon," he suggested.

Anderson noted that cinnamon may also help stave off the onset of type 2 diabetes in people at risk of the condition.

He added that cinnamon contains some substances that can be toxic in high amounts, so people should be sure not to get too much of a good thing. "Certainly, a gram per day is not a high amount," he reassured.

During the study, Anderson and his colleagues asked 60 people with type 2 diabetes to consume 1, 3, or 6 grams of cinnamon each day for 40 days, or the equivalent amount of wheat flour, as a placebo. Both the cinnamon and wheat flour were administered in capsule form.

Reporting in the journal Diabetes Care, Anderson and his team found that all cinnamon-takers experienced a drop in blood levels of glucose, fats and cholesterol by up to 30 percent. No change was seen in the people taking placebo capsules.

Anderson explained that cinnamon contains compounds that help make insulin more efficient, improving the hormone's ability to bring glucose to the cells that need it.

As an added bonus, cinnamon contains virtually no calories, Anderson said, allowing diabetics to add zest to their meals without adding to their waistlines.

Cinnamon contains less than 3 calories per gram, "negligible in the total dietary intake," Anderson said.

Previous research has shown that cinnamon appears to help fat cells recognize and respond to insulin. In test tube and in animal studies, the spice increased glucose metabolism by about 20 times.

1Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

(the whole chapter 3 of Colossians deals with death to self)

GOD's HOLY WORD: THE HOLY BIBLE

The Public Proclaimation of GOD's HOLY WORD finished up yesturday 2:07pm.

New Town United Methodist Church's Pastor David ... led the congregation in Thanksgiving to ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD for this great blessing HE had given them to be able to do this, and for the untold blessings that were to continue coming from it.

Testimonies came before the worshipping in song. Dear Brothers and sisters in CHRIST told what they had already experienced and what this HOLY BIBLE proclaimation has meant or how it has impacted persons lives. I will share just a few:

 *as a dear one in CHRIST read GOD's WORD she felt a warmth, a special peace, and even a strange warmth. There was a 'light' that was shining over the page as she read. Later she was to hear from a dear family member states away had been relieved of Lupus as she was reading.

*one night as a brother and his wife were arriving at the church, they saw a most wonderful sight, a shooting star, brilliant, was shining -even as if it were pointing to the church.

 --- the version used was the niv, I had been so grieved when Isaiah was read and the scriptures that tell of  lucifer's falling down to the earth were attributed to JESUS CHRIST! THE MORNING STAR!

The LORD said "Denounce That!", so, I did.

Later, they graciously allowed me to read, since I wasn't scheduled at that time.

As I brought my kjv onstage, I was told to read from The BIBLE that was already on the podium. I bowed my head to pray:

<<BELOVED FATHER GOD>>

here I AM, in the Name of YOUR DEAR SON, for cammie is nothing-

I know that YOUR HOLY SON speaking forth YOUR HOLY WORD by YOUR HOLY SPIRIT is more than powerful enough to overcome any ...discrepancies in a 'translation' by man.

Please, let this and all who read from this book in this time of proclaiming YOUR WORD (I had my hand on it as I asked GOD's blessing upon it)  be "REMA" WORD that goes forth...

accomplishing not what any man would desire, rather LORD GOD accomplishing ALL that YOU YOURSELF sent it forth to do.">>

This whole silent-prayer only took seconds, ...then I began to read:

As I was reading Isaiah 38-44 the brother and his wife came into the church.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iwas to learn that this was not the first Public Proclaimation of GOD's HOLY WORD in my lifetime at all!
others had heard of, or had a part in:
Washington, DC
Christian Life Center's and another church also here in Williamsburg.
>>DEAREST HOLY FATHER GOD<<
we stand in awe of YOUR GOODNESS, and JOYOUSLY WONDER what great things YOU ARE Doing!
We love YOU, GOD!
If the F.B.I., C.I.A., Interpol and all local police put out an A.P.B. for JESUS CHRIST...
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
2Co 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
If you would not ever be mistaken for Christ JESUS, Why not?
(list the reasons - asking GOD's HOLY SPIRIT to show you:)
Now, REPENT of each and every one of those reasons!
<<Dearest FATHER GOD>>
Humbly, yet boldly we come to YOUR HOLY THRONE of GRACE... Dearest LORD GOD, how very little we resemble OUR LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST....
every shortcoming is s-i-n !
Everytime we ever made our own choice or thought on our own desires we fell into sinning...for JESUS never did that which pleased HIM -rather, HE ever lived to please YOU, FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY!
Now, as HE is alive in us, how shall we dare to make the goal of our lives to do as we decide as we desire or as we ourselves deem best?  abomination of all abominations! LORD GOD ALMIGHTY please forgive us!
Forgive us, DEAREST FATHER, and cleanse us from this horrid unrighteousness that is such a wretched stench to YOU.
How have we disregarded or forgotten YOUR HOLY WORD that says:
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
How dare we try to plan out our own lives - DEAREST FATHER GOD, HOLY AND PURE, please help us to obey YOUR WORD ... live YOUR WORD out through us ... obey YOUR WORD through our lives... and then we will truly be living sacrifices unto YOU, pure and HOLY as is our reasonable service.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
For we know, no human can die to self and fill himself WITH JESUS...GOD WITH US... ONLY YOU GOD can do that.
and that is exactly what we are asking LORD GOD.
In the BELOVED and HOLY NAME of YOUR DEAR SON,  OUR SAVIOUR JESUS the CHRIST
amen
063 -- "I CAN'T DIE! I WON'T DIE!"
  Mrs. Phoebe Palmer, the noted and devoted holiness evangelist, is the authority for the following:
  E____ had a friend who did not believe that the injunctions, "Come out from among them and be ye separate," "Be not conformed to the world," and kindred passages, have anything to do with the external appearance of the Christian. She was united in church fellowship with a denomination which does not recognize these things as important, and she had been heard to speak contemptuously of those contracted views that would induce one, in coming out in a religious profession, to make such a change in external appearance as to excite observation.
  We should be far from favoring an intimation that E 's friend was hypocritical; she was only what would be termed a liberal-minded professor, and was no more insincere than thousands who stand on what would be termed an ordinary eminence in religious profession. The wasting consumption gradually preyed upon the vitals of this friend, and E____, who lives in a distant city, went to see her. E____, though not at the time as fully devoted as she might have been, was concerned to find her friend as much engaged with the vanities of the world and as much interested about conforming to its customs as ever, and she ventured to say, "I did not suppose you would think so much about these things now."
Her friend felt somewhat indignant at the remark, and observed, "I do not know that I am more conformed to the world than yourself, and the denomination to which you belong regards these things as wrong, but our people do not think that religion has anything to do with these little matters."
  The hand of withering disease continued relentlessly laid on E 's friend, and as she drew nearer eternity her blissful hopes of immortality and eternal life seemed to gather yet greater brightness. Her friends felt that her piety was more elevated than that of ordinary attainment. Again and yet again her friends gathered around her dying couch to hear her last glowing expressions and to witness her peaceful departure. Such was her composure that she desired her shroud might be in readiness so that she might, before the mirror, behold her body arrayed for its peaceful resting place.
  Her friend E____ was forced to leave the city a day or two before her dissolution, and called to take her final farewell. "We shall not meet again on earth," said the dying one, "but doubtless we shall meet in heaven. On my own part I have no more doubt than if I were already there, and I cannot but hope that you will be faithful unto death. We shall then meet." They then bade each other a last adieu.
The moment at last came when death was permitted to do his fearful work. The devoted friends had again gathered around the bed of the dying fair one to witness her peaceful exit. Respiration grew shorter and shorter and at last ceased, and they deemed the spirit already in the embrace of blissful messengers who were winging it to paradise. A fearful shriek! and in a moment they beheld her that they had looked upon as the departed sitting upright before them with every feature distorted.
  Horror and disappointment had transformed that placid countenance so that it exhibited an expression indescribably fiendish. "I can't die!" vociferated the terrified, disappointed one. "I won't die!" At that moment the door opened and her minister entered. "Out of the door, thou deceiver of men!" she again vociferated, fell back and was no more.
  "Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Mat. 7:21.)
Deny self and take up your cross daily and follow JESUS
HOW? HOW can we do that?
You can't --- not on your own nor by your own strength.
No more than Lazarus could raise himself from the dead -
Still, WE MUST DIE TO SELF!
Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's,
and of the holy angels.
and as the Apostle Paul writes:
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means,
when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Paul, who was victorious in his good fight of faith...has left us a guide as to how we, too, may be victorious in our lives...
Paul wrote many of the books of the New Testament. They are found after the GOSPELs
(Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are GOSPELs - they tell the Life Story of JESUS CHRIST).
The books Acts, Romans, all the way to Hebrews are the letters
that Paul wrote to the Christians of his day-or, rather I should say they are the letters
GOD ALMIGHTY wrote through Paul to instruct Christians of all times.
Ask HOLY FATHER GOD to send HIS HOLY SPIRIT to teach and guide you as you Read them. Study them. Follow them. Listen to GOD's WORD continually. Online there are so many places to download audio BIBLEs. Or just tune in and listen.
DON'T BE SATISFIED WITH LISTENING TO WHAT SOMEBODY SAYS GOD SAID...
LISTEN TO GOD'S WORD YOURSELF!
>>HOLY and HONORABLE FATHER GOD ALMIGHTY<<
CREATOR OF HEAVEN & EARTH...
We are here before YOU, today... to 1st of all say Thank YOU for all your wonderful and glorious loving blessings
YOU so Generously shower down on us each and every day. Thank YOU for provisions for our families,
food to eat, clothes to wear, and shelter over our heads, DEAREST FATHER GOD.
It is our Greatest Desire to Please YOU, FATHER GOD. Please send us YOUR HOLY SPIRIT to guide us into all TRUTH as JESUS promised HE would ask YOU to do.
Please help us to die to self
and live always only as JESUS would.
We know we can do NOTHING without YOU, DEAREST LORD!
Neither to be able to stop doing what our bodies crave to do, nor to make JESUS Alive inside us-HIS LIFE.
Only YOU can cleanse us from the sins we have lived in all our lives- ONLY YOU can give us JESUS's HOLINESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS inside us.
ONLY YOU, HEAVENLY FATHER can make come true YOUR WORDS:
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
for the rest of our days, FOREVER AND EVER.... please, LORD, live these 2 scriptures out in us we pray.
Thank YOU, LORD. Thank YOU.
IN JESUS CHRIST's HOLY and MatchlessName
AMEN
This is from www.fuegodedios.com
Jason Woodrow's website....of messages by (mostly) David Hogan. This is the website that blessed my family so very much just about 2 years ago when I found it... looking for Biblical teaching on fasting. May your family be as blessed as ours.
David Hogan at
Church at Northern Virginia
Oakton, VA, September 16-18, 2006
If you think that David Hogan is all huff and puff, or all talk, think again. He goes and he does.
While most others talk theory, he puts his faith into action and serves the poor and helpless.
When Hurricane Katrina devastated the area that he and his team come from, they rallied together
their resources and went to help those in need. They have been doing the same in Mexico
for many years. Even so, he still has to consciously choose to place himself in situations
where Jesus is the only answer, or he will grow complacent.
Brother David also addresses a major concern facing America today: Islamic extremists.
Were you aware that many thousands are turning to Christ every year in these regions,
where all we see on the news are car bombs and beheadings?
But it takes people willing to go and give up their lives to bring the gospel to them.
It takes the power of God demonstrated to them, not just words. Jesus in you
has the power to change nations, if you will surrender your life to the Kingdom of God.
Every day, Christians are raped, tortured, imprisoned, and murdered, just for being Christians.
Voice of the Martyrs reports that thousands of Christian girls in these regions are kidnapped,
sexually assaulted, and threatened with death if they refuse to convert to Islam. We rarely hear
about it because we live a highly insulated life in the United States. The free press would rather
talk about minor political scandals than real human issues. But Jesus promised us that we would
be hated, because He was hated. "Those who kill you will think they are doing God a service."
Nevertheless, He sends us out as sheep among wolves. And we will win many to Christ by doing so.
"Church is not a nice warm pew and a good soft message. Church is the power of God, where you learn how to equip yourself in the Holy Ghost. Church is where you go to learn how to get these born-blind and crippled people healed. You get equipped to do damage to the kingdom of the demon."
You CAN'T Be You - It is Not O.K.
Romans 8
   1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
It is called HOLINESS
As in Dead to self
and Alive to CHRIST ...
PRAISE REPORT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We just returned from the services in Dothan Alabama at New Life Church with Brother David Hogan and some of his family and ministry teams.

How can I share all the blessings The LORD has showered on us (even just in my family)?

I will try: (I knew GOD planned something wonderful for us from all the opposition we had-1st we had a war on our hands just getting on the road - it seemed almost impossible to get started!)

Finally on the road, I had mapquested the trip. Yikes 44 lines of directions.

Many turns onto country highways and streets that are highways... mis-calculated distances or typos (?) Yes, we did get lost ...but

Joshua (9) read the directions and this saved ALOT of time.

We saw many beautiful sights, and homes, and extremely dangerous roads (which we prayed The LORD's protection, blessing, and anointing over so travelers are covered there).....

And we finally got to town, got directions, and even a little escort to the right street.

Services were awesome. The Prayer after the services was more than awesome~ Family is awesome. Met some of the most precious, wonderful people in the whole world- Gus, Christa, Lisa and Barbara, Andy, Paige.

Mr. Paine from FATHER's GLORY website was there....an it was an unexpected blessing to meet him! He recorded the services and probably has them on his website, so

PLEASE GO SEE !!!

So, if you didn't get to go to Alabama, you don't have to miss totally out.

And if you DID get to go, I don't have to tell you anything, you have probably already been over to www.fathersglory.com and checked it out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
on the way home (we drove straight to Tennessee after the last service Sunday night) and the miracles kept on coming....
family relationships were healed and my aunt who just that day went to the hospital...  Josue, Mercy, and I got to pray for. (we had the healing cloths from the meetings!)
I can't wait to let you know how GOD has healed her and sent her home ...
I KNOW it but I haven't really heard it yet, I'll keep you all posted.
The LORD Bless you, and keep you
