Joh 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Joh 14:6

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:14
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

GOD prophesied through HIS Servant Ezekiel that HE would give us a new heart and a new spirit :

Ezekiel 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh:

WHY are we given new Spirit and new heart?
~~~~
Ezekiel 11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
