~~~~~~It was a great time. We went off seeking the LORD, but it wasn't the easiest trip.
Rain came down all the first day, we walked around for hours in the rain returning to our car after we were told (erroneously) the event had been canceled.
Then we had a few hotel trials (driving around for hours finding one...then the BLOOD SUCKING BUGS that came out of the pillows or mattresses....GROSS!)the rooms were so pretty and clean! Who would have believed this?! ...we were given a new room on the other side of the hotel, apologies, and the room was on the house. (we were timid about staying, but considering how long it took us to find a hotel in the 1st place, how late it was already, and the children....we thanked them and accepted their kind offer.)
prayer and seeking GOD time
I finally got to sleep around 2am.
The next day we were up and at the National Mall bright and early! Hooray! Parking was almost instantly found. I love that...it was pretty far away, but being tourists, what did we know? We walked up to the Mall couldn't find the Festival. There was a Solar Decathalon there instead, and we looked at alot of the homes in the exhibit....thinking, well, the LORD directs our footsteps, so, we'll look around.
Got back to the car ...asked a lady there abouts. "NO, the Mall is where you just came from. This is the elipse."
So we walked back up to the mall. Walked past the Solar Decathalon...kept on going. Sure enough...there it was. The Washington DC Festival.
Guess what. They had NOT canceled the previous day. Now we felt cheated. We came all that way....spent the day in the rain...and IT WAS THERE, but we left because we were told it had beencanceled. I was glad we had stayed to the 2nd day...at least we'll be here for a PART of it.
The first thing we came to were the children's activities. Mercy, Josh, and Joseph all had a fantastic time...pictures taken next to the 'veggie tales' cucumber and tomatos'. (Couldn't help feeling ....hipocritical here....seeing as how I am NOT a fan of veggie tales.)Then face painting. Mercy: Flowers Joshua: A Leopard Joseph: I ♥ Jesus. Then there were games and prizes. Josh was the best 'jumper' they had seen so far said the 'sack race' attendees. He also out-raced Mercy in the find a pumpkin in the bales-of-hay maze. Hockey, Baseball batting, Painting...to name a few of the games.
Then we ate lunch in the cafeteria inside the Art Museum Building. I so THANK THE LORD for that cafeteria. We spent virtually the same amount of money, (as we would have eating outside on the mall buying from guest services vendors), BUT we were INSIDE and BEAUTY was everywhere. There was a Cascading Waterfall - ArtWall hence the name: Cascade Cafe. Highly reccommend this place. For a family of 5 we spent around $30. Joseph is only 1 he doesn't eat much.
We looked around the Art Museum for awhile. The crusade ...workship and all actually started at 4pm. So we had time.
Then back outside and we got situated. As close to the front as we could get without being in mud. :) So, we weren't all that close, but close enough. Plus the big-screens were up. We had a good view.
We stayed as late as we felt we should. Conrado had to work Monday morning bright and early...we were all exhausted already....staying through the end might have been the better thing to do, I don't think GOD is angry we left when we did, though.
Ce Ce Winnans, Jump 5, Yuri, and Dave Ludden were the worship and praise leaders that we saw.
The Live-It skateboarders Outreach we missed. I'm really sorry about that, because I know Joshua would have loved it so.
All in all we were greatly blessed.
***Thank YOU, LORD JESUS!
amen***
Dear 'whatever your name is'
I went to read 'your take' on the festival.
Your Response totally shocked me! Such things you write against
other Christians. Don't you KNOW
That whatsoever you have done to the least of these JESUS's brethren,
you have done it unto HIM?
Why would you attack OUR LORD and SAVIOUR like that?
Don't you realize you are 'sewing discord among the brethren'?
Who are you to judge another man's servant?
I see no Christian Love in this at all.
I read the False Accuser of the Brethrens' words big and clear.
YOUR fruit is the fruit stinking here. Not those who dedicated themselves to GOD going out into the world to preach the GOSPEL of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Their fruit:
love, charity, long suffering, joy, self sacrifice
Preaching GOD's HOLY WORD
hense: souls saved from hell.
In the Name of JESUS, I humbly tell you, "you and your friends need to do some heavy duty repenting. For ye know not what spirit ye are of."
GOD Bless you, as you seek to follow the MASTER.
May HE keep, guide, and bless you (in that order.)
amen
(cont.) the pamphlet you handed out was just as bad.
The WORD of GOD is a sharp two-edged sword, it is the Sword of Faith.
With it, we bring down the works of the evil one
Not twist the WORDS to attack the works of brothers and sisters in CHRIST JESUS.
I am thankful for your visit here, as it brings to light an area of needed prayer,
but I am incredibly saddened and grieved now.
***Dearest FATHER GOD***
Where is the LOVE, LORD JESUS?
Where is THE LOVE YOU said they'd know we belong to YOU by our LOVE one for another.
We so need YOU, GOD please....
Please, Visit YOUR people! Please, pour out YOUR HOLY SPIRIT on us,
keep us from evil, guide us into ALL TRUTH
...perfect us, LORD GOD. Please. Make us more MORE MORE like JESUS.
Who NEVER sought to please HIMSELF, but came to serve others.
Who was faithful unto death.
Let us be YOUR "good and faithful servants"....
GOD, please.
amen
