UPDATE ON THE CONDITION OF MISSIONARY HEIDI BAKER

Rolland Baker/Steve Shultz, Aimee Herd reporting  (Oct 7, 2005)

Managing Editor's Note: Rolland Baker sent me this note to thank our readers for praying for Heidi Baker. He wanted you all to have this latest update. -- Steve Shultz, Breaking Christian News.

Hi Steve, thank you so much for your concern, and for your part in communicating with so many people about Heidi. Starting yesterday Heidi was put on intravenous Zyvoxid, a last-resort antibiotic for methicillin-resistant staph. The medical world has no other recourse. Her infections are serious, and the hospital is very concerned. Her doctor says she needs to be hospitalized for at least another ten days.

We will soon know how the staph is responding. But Heidi and I are very positive and filled with faith. She is overwhelmed by the love of God that has been expressed to her from around the world, and so encouraged by many ways the Holy Spirit has been speaking to her through the Body of Christ. Her whole goal in ministry is to love people, and see people learn to love with the love of Jesus, and she is moved to tears by all the responses she has received this week.

We would like everyone to keep praying, as Heidi would like to get out of the hospital and back to her children in Mozambique as soon as possible. Medically she still faces a critical challenge, but spiritually this challenge to our faith will take us to new places in Jesus, along with all who have so identified with Heidi. Heidi is receiving the strong word she has received from so many about resting more, and she will be making changes. She feels so loved... Lots of love and appreciation, Rolland Baker

I didn't know who this lady was, Cammie, but thanks for letting me know someone who is out there spreading the word. She will be in my prayers for a quick and speedy recovery.
