But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing:and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.Here we see The Anger of the LORD was kindled against ALL the children of Israel for the sin of (what we would say was of) ONE MAN : Achan.
WE see people as being single and separate. GOD's WORD doesn't always make the same distinctions as we do.

Still your sin will find you out. Every man will pay for their own sins. the soul who sins will die: Ezek 18:20-23.
But praise HIM for HIS mercy and grace in that HE sent HIS Son to die in our place
The sin of Achan and it's consequence was before the Sacrifice of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST (the Messiah)...
and... it didn't deal with the eternal ramifications of Achan's sin.
(which, of course, every man will be judged separately on THAT Great and Glorious Day: JUDGEMENT DAY!)
The Bible IS very clear that one man's sin caused GREAT SORROW, DEFEAT IN WAR, AND MUCH LOSS OF LIFE to his whole country....here on earth...in everyday life on earth.
SO...as we, our children, and all our neighbors share in the consequences of the sins of the wicked in this country...
SO MUCH THE MORE OUR VOICES SHOULD BE RAISED
IN THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
AND IN THE REBUKE OF SIN
